PNG is "OWNED" - It Is a Pretended Democracy

By Garry Juffa:

Like many other developing Nations..PNG is "OWNED".

By who?

By a collection of cartels that lobby Government for decisions that they feel are in their best interests.

What about the people?

Well they are only useful for elections as far as these cartels are concerned. They are sheeple..herded to polling booths via clever marketing, plied with alcohol, food and entertainment and dragged semi conscious to vote for whoever they are paid or manipulated to vote for..

What about democracy?

Well that's hardly ever a reality in most countries anyway.

What you have is a pretend democracy.

Created to give some resemblance of the freedoms enjoyed by the people.

But look closer and you will see the beneath the costume of pretend democracy and what is there...is hardly a democracy.

In a pretend democracy...where the Government is hardly for the people...never by the people and barely by the people...

Some common features are visible in a pretend democracy.

Justice is available to those who can afford it...

Decisions made are NOT in the interest of the People or Nation..

People do not own the Economy..rather they are spectators and can barely participate meaningfully..increasingly they lose their jobs and businesses to the cartels..

Elections are rigged and manipulated..

Mainstream media is very much harnessed and manipulated..

Business contracts via Governments are for cronies and highly inlfated..

Those who stand up for what is right are attacked by the Government..

Those who want change are many but those who are willing to change are too few..

Yes, in a pretend democracy... Corruption becomes so entrenched, it is not only accepted, but expected.

Corruption in fact has become one of the rights of anyone who is connected enough to exercise it freely and with impunity.
